NetX ADN provides customers with a solution that continuously monitors and analyzes the performance, efficiency, user experience and delivery of services and applications over the WAN. NetX ADN uses data that it collects from various Application Delivery Controllers or WAN Optimization Controllers to monitor and optimize the quality of Application Delivery and to set and manage performance goals. Instead of the traditional technical network approach (focused on the 3 lower levels of the OSI network model), NetX ADN has a business approach: the customer sets and manages business goals that are supported by network components in the infrastructure.
Performance characteristics of the actual delivery of the application to the end-user, is used to understand where optimization of the delivery process should take place. This can result in a redesign of the application infrastructure, the installation of WAN optimization/application delivery controllers, etc. NetX ADN provides insight in the usage of network resources by individual applications. This insight is used by customers to optimize their bandwidth usage. In several cases, the use of NetX ADN has resulted in downgrading the amount of bandwidth that was used by remote locations. This has lead to significant network cost reductions, without compromising the performance of the applications. Regaining control over applications and service providers. Because NetX ADN provides a consolidated overview of all applications in the WAN, it is simple to regain control of applications, and the way applications are used in the WAN. At the same time, NetX ADN is a useful tool to control the way service providers deliver their services/applications to end-users. All information that is collected by NetX ADN is fed into the service level management system. This enables NetX ADN to provide a complete service level agreement solution to customers. The very flexible way to define and manage SLAs is used to not only manage application delivery but also to manage and control service providers. NetX ADN is also used to troubleshoot critical application problems, usually related to poor performance.
